AS media pre-production campaign
In my group, we discussed various ideas to base our campaign on, here are some that were thought of:
- drink driving
- smoking
- drug abuse
- teen pregnancy
- cycling awareness
- domestic abuse

We decided to base our campaign on Domestic Abuse. We split this topic into 4 separate sections:
- Male abusing female
- Female abusing male
- Parent abusing child
- Child abusing parent
- Male abusing female
- Female abusing male
- Parent abusing child
- Child abusing parent
We each then took a different section to research further into, and create an idea of an advert to do with it. I chose to do the section about parents abusing their children. I will use many different research methods in order to collect enough statics.
Primary research: surveys, questionaires, question people's awareness
Secondary research: facts that other people have found, other peoples research.
When researching I found that, domestic abuse can be behaviours with partners (marriage), dating, family, friends or cohabitation. It includes many types of physical aggression (hitting, kicking, biting, shoving, restraining, slapping, throwing objects etc..) or threats, sometimes of sexual abuse, emotional, domineering, intimidation, stalking, neglect and economic deprivation. Alcohol consumption and mental illness can be co-morbid with abuse.
Domestic abuse differs widely from era to era, country to country. I think it would be good to include secondary research on the history of domestic abuse (parent to child) and briefly on statistics on how often it occurs in other countries.
